CTA of the Year
At the annual USTA Alabama meeting on 28 February, 2009 in Birmingham the Auburn Community Tennis Association was presented with the Community Tennis Association of the Year Award. Accepting the award were Joe Wilkinson-board member, Jennifer Stephens-Secretary, Bret Peterson-President, and Travis DeBardelaben-board member and Yarbrough Tennis Center Director
The Auburn University team won the USTA Southern Section Campus Champions tournament in Dothan. This team of volunteer (non-varsity) players defeated teams from North Carolina, Clemson, and throughout the southeast to put the Auburn team in the National Championships to be played in Arizona this April. The victorious team is shown below:
